1-5 Electives General Art
A variety of mediums and styles will be explored. Collage, sculpture,
printmaking, pastels, crafts are examples of mediums that may be explored.

Drawing I
We will explore various styles, mediums, and techniques. Students will
practice an array of drawing perspectives from observation, imagination,
and life drawing. A good class for the beginner. (1-5)
Painting and Pastel
In this elective we will explore various painting and pastel styles,
mediums, and techniques. The student will learn the different styles using
a hands-on approach. (1-5)
6-8 Electives
Watercolor
This elective explores the medium of watercolor and its properties.
Students learn techniques through experimentation with various additives,
products, brush strokes, and applications.
General Art
This elective explores a wide variety of mediums. Projects can range from
clay sculpture, scratchboard, and paper mache, to drawing, and collage.
Drawing and Pastel
This elective explores drawing through several mediums. Students will
sharpen their skills using artist’s pencils, pastel, chalk and charcoal.
Techniques practiced include shading, stippling, hatching, and
cross-hatching. Work will be generated through imagination as well from
observation. This is a good class for the more advanced art student.
